Question: I have been trying to catch fish on a topwater frog and can't seem to get a bite. What would you suggest to make that style of fishing more productive. What type of area's of grass would you key in on. -Bill
Answer: Bill, frog fishing grass mats can be one of the most exciting and frustrating ways to catch fish. The key to locating productive mats is to look and listen for signs of activity such as bluegill popping the surface, blow holes (created by bass chasing bluegill), and bass busting on the surface. If a grass mat does not have any of these characteristics it is probably not productive and you should move on to another area in search of a grass mat that has signs of life in it.
