ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Georgia outside linebacker Jarvis Jones has a simple formula for his success this season.
Jones says he's not fast or strong, contrary to what people think. But he says he gives his all every play, "and if you can't hold it, well, somebody is going to have to give."
Jones was named the SEC's defensive player of the week Monday after becoming the fifth Bulldog in school history with four sacks in a game during 18th-ranked Georgia's 24-20 victory over Florida Saturday. He leads the Southeastern Conference with eight.
He started his college career at Southern Cal after starring at Carver High in Columbus, Ga. But he sprained his neck and later transferred to Georgia.
The Bulldogs, who host New Mexico State on Saturday, are happy to have the 6-foot-3, 240-pound sophomore back in the state.
