If the 2012 presidential election were held today, all three Republican frontrunners would likely defeat President Obama in Tennessee, according to a new Middle Tennessee State University poll.
In the poll, Mitt Romney leads Obama 44 percent to 29 percent.
Rick Perry leads the president 41 percent to 28 percent.
Herman Cain leads Obama 39 percent to 28 percent.
It's no surprise that Obama's campaign faces an uphill struggle in the fight to win Tennessee. Since 1996, a Democratic presidential candidate has not won Tennessee's electoral votes.
Obama lost Tennessee to John McCain 57 percent to 42 percent in 2008.
