Crime Stoppers: Gaggle of Teens Rough-up and Rob Man

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WRCB-TV) - It was around 1:30 on the afternoon of Friday, September 30th at the Oakwood Community Church on Webb Road off Highway 58. A group of what are thought to be older teenagers approached the man who would become our victim. They asked him for a cigarette. He did not have one, but that is not what they were after, anyway.

One suspect grabbed him, the other pulled a gun. They demanded his wallet, punched him in the mouth and hit in the head with the handgun. They hit him so hard, in fact, the gun fired. The thugs knocked the elderly man to the ground, grabbed the victim's wallet, then they all ran away.

This edition of Crime Stoppers is a little different in the sense that we are totally dependant on you, what you know and what you may have heard around the neighborhood. There is no surveillance video of the crime, no pictures of the suspects, but thanks to our victim, we do know what they look like.

We are looking for a total of 4 people: 2 black males between 17 and 20-years old; each around 5'7" and 2 black females also around 5'7", both with heavy builds. On this particular Friday afternoon, one of the girls was wearing a purple shirt.

If you know anything about this crime, you could get yourself up to a thousand dollars in free cash. Your identity will be kept secret, even from the police. Pick up the phone and call Crime Stoppers at 698-3333.
