Site chosen for new, larger Bellevue library branch

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

It has been a struggle for years but a site has finally been chosen to build a new Bellevue library.

Today, Metro announced that it will be built on four acres at Bellevue Middle School, just around the corner from where the current library sits.

The city plans to build an approximately 25,000-square-foot library, which is five times the size of the existing Bellevue library at 650 Colice Jeanne Road.

Construction costs are estimated at $10 million, and transaction of the property still requires approval from the Metro School Board.

The new library is expected to open during the second half of 2013.
