NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro Police have identified a man who died after being hit by a pickup truck in Hermitage late Saturday night.

Officers said Charles Davis, 47, was trying to cross Lebanon Pike when he was struck.

Davis was transported to a local hospital where he died, according to investigators.

Police identified the driver as Craig Hoppe. Officers said Hoppe reported he did not see the man until the crash.

Officers said there was no evidence of excessive speed or reckless driving on the part of the driver.
