NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A man hospitalized after a shooting at a Nashville nightclub early Sunday morning, has died from his injuries.

Police said in a release Sunday afternoon that Brian Amos, 22, got into a scuffle with someone in the restroom of Bentley's House of Soul on George L. Davis Boulevard around 1:30 a.m.

Witnesses said the fight then moved to the dance floor, and gunshots were fired.

"I was scared," said witness Billy Woodard.  "I thought I was going to get shot, so I ran out of the club."

"When officers arrived at the location, they observed that one male, black, had been shot two times," said Metro Police Capt. Sebastian Gourdin.

Gourdin said investigators hope to identify the shooter on the club's surveillance video.

"It's always a security issue when you've got alcohol involved and individuals carrying weapons," Gourdin said.
