Dooley has full schedule for Vols' off weekend

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Just because the Tennessee Volunteers have the weekend off doesn't mean coach Derek Dooley will have much free time.

The Vols held their final practice of the bye week on Thursday and won't return to the field until Monday.

Dooley and wife Allison Dooley will present checks to eight East Tennessee children's charities totally $220,000 at Neyland Stadium on Friday morning. The Dooleys worked with Variety of Eastern Tennessee to develop fundraisers for the charities that included a dinner at their home, a golf tournament and a luncheon.

On Saturday, Dooley will travel to New York to serve as a commentator for CBS Sports' College Football Today studio show.

Dooley says he hopes he doesn't embarrass the program and was humbled to be invited to participate on the show.
