Williamson County man's murder remains unsolved

FRANKLIN, TN (WSMV) -

One year has passed since a Williamson County man was shot and killed on his own patio, and investigators need your help to solve the case.

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office believes someone shot Fox in the head at his home on Old Harding Road last September.

"We have our guesses, but that's all they are," said Hugh Tharpe, with the Williamson County Sheriff's Office.

Since the murder, officials have followed several strong leads, but all of them crumbled.

"It's frustrating, and the longer it goes and the leads that don't pan out, that's tough. This is not part of the job you relish," Tharpe said.

Fox was a well known member of the music industry in Nashville. He lived alone, but neighbors say he partied with country music stars and his home was a revolving door for visitors.

But they didn't know Fox may have been messing with the wrong people.

Investigators believe Fox's murder was a setup. They say Fox came home one night, walked in his front door and his killer was waiting.

"We don't believe it was a robbery, because there were guns and drugs in the house that were not taken," Tharpe said.

Investigators believe someone in Williamson County knows who killed Roger Fox.

"When this happens, multiple people usually know. And we want one of those people to step forward," Tharpe said.
