NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The Nashville Humane Association hosted its annual "Dog Day" Festival at Centennial Park on Sept. 17.

The nationally acclaimed event was recognized as one of the top dog-themed events nationwide, by Dog Fancy magazine this year.

Dog owners and lovers were able to listen to live music and enroll their dog in fun contests like "Cutest Costume" and "Waggliest Tail."

One lucky dog was also dubbed "Nashville's Top Dog" by a panel of judges.

Dog owners had the chance to participate in the annual "Music City Mutt Strutt," a community benefit dog walk.

The fundraising goal this year was $40,000, and all the proceeds from the event will provide funding for animals in need through the Nashville Humane Association.
