One woman was killed and another is in critical condition after a double shooting this morning after a domestic dispute, according to police.

Police say Charles Ifedi Godspower was arrested after the shooting, which occurred around 10 a.m. at a home on Sky Valley Trail.

Brianna Brown was apparently shot to death while trying to make a desperate attempt to get away in her car. Her mother was also wounded and is in critical condition.

Police say Godspower was Brown's ex-boyfriend, and the father of their young son. Their child was not present at the time of the shooting and is in the care of relatives.

Godspower has been charged with especially aggravated kidnapping, first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and violation of order of protection. He is held on a $1 million bond at the Rutherford County Jail.
