Metro Council runoff races decided in five districts

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Voters in five Metro Council districts went to the polls Thursday to decide the runoff races for their district seats.

With each of the 23 precincts reporting, more than 6,000 votes were cast in the five races combined.

In district 4, Brady Banks defeated Dave Patterson, 649 to 451.

In district 5, Scott Davis defeated Pam Murray, 805 to 328.

In district 6, Peter Westerholm defeated Dave Rich, 1,092 to 721.

In district 13, Josh Stites defeated Marilyn Robinson, 617 to 405.

And in district 33, Robert Duvall defeated Page Turner, 663 to 516.

Candidates needed to receive 50 percent plus one vote in the Aug. 4 general election to avoid a runoff.
