NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A Nashville man was recognized Monday as 'Citizen of the Year' by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for helping police find a missing child during an Amber Alert last year.

Robert Biggs was honored at the Florida Missing Children's Day ceremony by Gov. Rick Scott and FDLE Commissioner Gerald Bailey. Biggs, a truck driver, took note of an Amber Alert while driving through Tennessee.

The alert had been issued after a child was abducted from Chipley, FL.

Biggs later spotted a vehicle named in the Amber Alert while driving in Kentucky. He contacted police, and the child was safely recovered.
