NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Ian Reitz will join the Channel 4 News Today team at WSMV as the new co-anchor alongside Holly Thompson, Meteorologist Paul Heggen and Traffic Reporter Jennifer Herron.

Reitz comes to Channel 4 News from KGUN in Tucson, AZ, where he was co-anchor of Good Morning Tucson.

"I've been so impressed with the news team and the quality of work at WSMV," Reitz said. "The team doesn't just skim the surface when it comes to reporting an issue or problem. Instead, it's evident they seek to get answers to questions that really matter."

Prior to KGUN, Reitz was an anchor/reporter at KTSM in El Paso, TX, and a reporter at KMIR in Palm Springs, CA. He began his career at KTTV in Los Angeles.

"Ian's mix of serious news experience and his years of leading a friendly and inviting morning team make him a great fit for Middle Tennessee and Channel 4 News Today," said WSMV-TV Channel 4 News Director Matthew Hilk.

Reitz will join WSMV's Channel 4 News Today team in early October. The newscast airs weekday mornings from 4 a.m. to 7 a.m.
