FRANKLIN, TN (WSMV) -
Franklin police say a man shot an intruder during an attempted break in.
Officers were dispatched to Building 5 of the apartment complex at 300 North Royal Oaks Boulevard a little after 3:20 a.m. Saturday.
Police said a woman called 911 to report that a man was trying to break into her home.
Moments later, she told the dispatcher that her husband had shot the man, according to police.
Officers said the suspect had apparently pushed in the screen to the porch of the couple's first floor apartment and was outside of their bedroom when he was shot through a window by the woman's husband.
An officer has been posted with the suspect who is in critical condition at an area hospital.
