It was a somber anniversary for a Middle Tennessee family. One year ago today Tonya Thompson was found shot to death in her Maury County home. Her boyfriend, John Lee Fleming IV is accused of pulling the trigger. Saturday family and friends released purple balloons in her memory. More >>
COLUMBIA, TN (WSMV) -
A Columbia woman was discovered dead in her home Thursday after an altercation with her live-in boyfriend.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at 1632 Lindsey Drive around noon, where they found Tonya May Thompson's body.
John Lee Fleming IV was taken into custody at the scene and is charged with first-degree murder. He is being held at the Maury County Jail without bond.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and they encourage anyone with information to call them at (931) 380-2721.
