NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Federal agents were at the Gibson Guitar facilities in Nashville and Memphis Wednesday, in an ongoing investigation that stems almost two years.

Just before noon, agents were at the Gibson facility on Massman Drive in Nashville.

Nearly two years ago, federal agents executed search warrants on the company, claiming that Gibson was possibly violating a law which bans the importing of endangered woods from places like Madagascar.

Agents with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service were at Gibson sites in Nashville and Memphis, saying they were executing more search warrants.

Department of Justice spokesman Wynn Hornbuckle gave a statement to Channel 4 Wednesday afternoon.

"What I can confirm is that federal law enforcement executed a search warrant pursuant to our ongoing investigation," he said.

Channel 4 anchor Demetria Kalodimos recently spoke exclusively with Gibson CEO Henry Juszkiewicz about the raids. He's said that Gibson would fully cooperate with the federal government during their investigation.
