Counterfeit Viagra, Cialis sales net arrest

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A local man is in hot water for a scheme experts say could be dangerous to your health.

Edward Clark, of Antioch, is facing federal charges for allegedly buying more than 77,000 phony Viagra and Cialis tablets online, then selling them.

Health experts say counterfeit drugs are dangerous, and despite what the seller may claim you just never can tell what you might be buying.

"The pills that were brought in here that were being sold were for impotence, and giving them to the wrong person could potentially lower the blood pressure to nothing if there's a heart patient involved," said Tommy Malone, owner of Green Hills Pharmacy.

According to the district attorney, Clark wasn't the only one taking part in the scheme. He was allegedly coordinating with other people to accept the shipments and make payments for the pills.

It is not known if anyone else will be charged in the case.
