Puppy found on church doorstep now on road to recovery

Posted: Updated:

A puppy found on a church doorstep in dire need of a veterinarian in July is well on the road to recovery.

The pit bull mix puppy named Charlotte by her rescuers was found suffering from several ailments including demodectic mange, which caused much of her fur to fall out, and sores on her skin.

Charlotte is living in the care of a veterinarian's office in Franklin and the treatment has restored much of her fur.

Supporters are holding a bake sale and yard sale fundraiser Saturday in East Nashville to help pay for Charlotte's expensive veterinary care. The sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1412 Woodland Street.

Charlotte is nearly ready for release from the veterinarian's care, but a permanent home has not been found. Anyone interested in adopting Charlotte is visit the Labor of Love Animal Welfare Project's Petfinder page.
