NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Nissan has donated a new emergency command and transport response vehicle to the Kittrell Volunteer Fire Department.
The vehicle is a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4 and will be used on fire scenes to establish command post operations and to transport firefighters to and from scenes.
Fire Chief John Ingle says they "are honored to receive this generous donation from Nissan Americas. It will be another 'tool in the tool kit' in our service to the citizens of the Kittrell and Readyville communities."
Gemini Communications Inc. equipped the Pathfinder with emergency warning and radio communications gear.
It has also been outfitted with a command console, allowing for resource and personnel management. The console will also house additional radio communications equipment, allowing for increased interoperability between multiple jurisdictions and departments.
