Mayor Karl Dean was re-elected to a second term Thursday by an overwhelming majority in the Metro General Elections.
Dean delivered a victory speech at the Adventure Science Center near downtown when he jumped to a large early lead, which he maintained over his three opponents -- James Keeton, Marvin Barnes and Bruce Casper.
With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Dean received 50,300 votes. His nearest opponent, Keeton received 6,640.
Also Thursday, voters sent Vice Mayor Diane Neighbors easily on her way to a second term.
Neighbors received 44,619 votes, compared to opponent James Arnold Baxter's 14,683 votes, with 100 precincts reporting.
