Metro website tells voters which district they live in

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Saturday is the last day you can cast an early vote in the upcoming Nashville elections.

And if you have any questions about just what district you live in, there's a website that can help.

The Metro Planning department just won an award for its interactive online mapping system.

Among the maps available is one featuring the re-drawn council districts.

All you have to do is enter your address and you can see which district you live in.

You'll also learn about the demographics in your district.

Plus, the city has plans to make the site even more useful.

"One of the things we've always wanted to do is put up a site for people that is kind of like our council district profile books that we give out. But an online version of that. So people can find out information about how many permits are in their district, what kind of zoning is happening in this district, what land use. And they can follow that real-time, versus getting a static map," said Jennifer Higgs, with the Metro Planning Commission.

The Aug. 4 election will decide Nashville mayor, vice-mayor, 35 district seats and five at-large council seats.

Voters will also make a decision on a referendum regarding the State Fairgrounds in Nashville.
