Borders closing LaVergne distribution facility

LAVERGNE, TN (WSMV) -

In a move many expected, Borders said Monday the company will close its distribution center in La Vergne.

Two-hundred eighty-three workers at the LaVergne facility will lose their jobs.

Borders announced last week it's closing all of its retail stores beginning Aug.15.

The layoffs at the LaVergne facility will begin on or about Aug. 15 and conclude no later than Sept. 1, said a city news release.
