CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Drivers in Clarksville will have to watch out for detours in a major intersection downtown, while crews work to repair a reported sinkhole in the road.
According to a news release from Clarksville Police, the detours will surround College Street and North Second Street. Police said the detours will vary depending on drivers' approaches to the area.
Officers said it's not clear how long the detours will last.
City officials said crews were expected to be digging in the area starting on Monday. City spokesman Mark Hicks said they hope to learn more by using a camera to check out a sewer pipe underneath the street. The pipe is about 30-40 feet below the ground.
Police said they're asking all drivers to be patient while repairs are underway.
