Reported by Aaron Solomon NASHVILLE, Tenn. Tom Morris has been named the new principal at Oak View Elementary. Morris will replace Denis Goodwin, who has been named assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools. Morris will begin July 1. Dr. Mike Looney announces this Wednesday and said, Tom will get to know each Oak View student and base his decisions on whats best for each one. He is a seasoned educator and his knowledge and experience will serve the community well. Morris is currently the director of student services for Mason City Schools in Mason, Ohio, where he supervises special education, school nurses, attendance and more. His education career began in 1983 as a high school teacher, assistant principal, athletic director and the principal until 1997. He then served as the principal of Mason Heights Elementary School for seven years. In 2004, Morris moved into the Mason City Schools Central Office. I am thrilled to become a member of the Oak View school community, and I am eager to meet the staff, students and families of Oak View, said Morris. My personal motto is 'Every Student Every Day,' and I am committed to the success of each child who attends Oak View Elementary School. Morris is an alumnus of Miami University, where he earned his doctorate, masters degree and bachelors degree.
