There have already been some changes following the Channel 4 I-Team investigation into the work habits of Criminal Court clerk David Torrence.
He told the I-Team he doesn't work on Wednesday or Fridays, but this Wednesday was the first Wednesday that Torrence has worked in awhile. It came after he issued a public apology Tuesday in a news release to what the I-Team exposed.
The investigation showed Torrence only working about half of last year and admitting he takes off every Wednesday and Friday.
The I-Team's undercover camera found Torrence doing everything from working in his yard to running personal errands in a county vehicle on some days off.
He said he didn't see a problem with any of it, but then he apparently started feeling the heat.
After a Metro Council member filed a resolution calling for his resignation and the district attorney announced he was reviewing whether he should or could force Torrence from office, the court clerk issued an apology saying he will no longer be an embarrassment to the office.
He told the I-Team through his assistant he will now be working five days a week.
Inside sources told the I-Team that he called everyone in the clerk's office into his office, in groups of 15 or less, and read his apology to them.
The district attorney general's office said the attorney general is still researching what he will do next.
