Planning Commission Approves New Metro Redistricting

Updated: April 1, 2011

The Metro Planning Commission on Thursday night approved a new redistricting map to be used for new council and school board zones.

The board voted 7-0 to move forward with plans to redraw the lines because of new census information.

The Metro Council must now approve the new map. It will vote on it at a meeting scheduled for Tuesday.

The plan will not affect police or fire protection, nor will it change where children go to school.
