Plea Deals Accepted In Future Relative's Death 3-16-2011

A Waynesboro couple won't stand trial for the slaying of their son's fiance. Instead, they're taking plea deals.
Authorities found Rose Goggins' body last year on property owned by Steven and Sylvia Beersdorf. Goggins was engaged to the couple's son, and investigators said there was friction in the family.
On Wednesday, Steven Beersdorf pleaded guilty to first-degree murder. He'll be 99 years old before he's eligible for parole.
Sylvia Beersdorf entered a best interest plea to conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and received a 15-year sentence. The charge of first-degree murder against her was dropped because District Attorney Mike Bottoms said while she helped plan how to kill Goggins, she didn’t help with the actual murder.
