"Blogging is just writing and publishing it online, so I got started, and it just kind of took off," said Kate Spears.
About 700 women bloggers from around the country have converged in Nashville for the ever-growing Blissdom Conference.
"It is a women's blogging conference where people come to really learn how to be a better blogger," said Paula Bruno, co-founder of the conference. "I think everyone is intimidated when they start something new, so I think what you have to do is have the confidence and believe in yourself that you can do it and you have to write about something you're passionate about. That's the key."
"That's how I found my job, is through my social space," said Sarah Kay Hoffman of digitalmention.com.
Hoffman said she started blogging two years ago and turned one blog into two money-making blogs. She said that people shouldn't be intimidated if they're interested.
"Don't be, because everybody has something to say. And what I found is you start saying something and it actually takes you down a totally different path, and every single road I have taken that started online has led me to incredible places," Hoffman said.
"Women can start businesses very easily, with almost no overhead, and they're only limited by how much time they can devote to it," said Alli Worthington.
The Blissdom Conference has been held in Nashville the past four years in late January or early February.
