TSU Choir Sings At Kennedy Center Event 12-06-2010

The Tennessee State University choir got the surprise of a lifetime this weekend when the group was invited to sing at the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, D.C.
The group had no idea that they were performing at the gala until their plane landed in D.C.
The choir sang in front of the center honorees, which included Paul McCartney, Merle Haggard and Oprah Winfrey. President Barack Obama and his family were among those in the crowd at Sunday night’s event.
The choir performed the song "I'm Here" from the musical The Color Purple.
The Kennedy Center Honors is an annual event recognizing those in the performing arts for their lifetime contributions to American culture.
