Burdick Sentenced For March Rape Conviction 5-13-2010

A Nashville man accused of more than a decade of sexual assaults in middle Tennessee was sentenced for a March conviction.
Robert Burdick, 40, will serve a 20-year sentence after being convicted of aggravated rape and especially aggravated kidnapping in a 2000 case in Antioch.
Judge Seth Norman gave Burdick 20 years on each of the two counts, to be served concurrently. Burdick is already serving 42 years in prison for convictions in two other rape cases.
He is set to go on trial next week in Williamson County in a separate rape case. Burdick still faces seven other counts in Davidson County, and is scheduled to go on trial in October in Nashville.
Because of his convictions, he will be 90 years old before being eligible for parole.
Burdick is accused of raping at least 12 women in Davidson, Williamson and Wilson counties over a 14-year period. The person responsible for these attacks became known as the Wooded Rapist.
