Wristbands Alert Caregiver To Food Allergies 2-02-2010

With more and more children being diagnosed with peanut or dairy allergies, a group of Williamson County parents has created a new wristband to make people more aware of the problem.
Jeannie Noblitt has children who have food allergies. To protect her children, Noblitt and four other parents designed and had special wristbands made for food allergies.
"They are something to help just kind of remind the caregiver that's there, 'Hey, I have a food allergy. I may not be able to eat what you're serving', said Noblitt.
Each band is latex free and has cartoon characters that help indicate whether a child has a dairy, food or nut allergy.
Parents have said it's especially helping younger children who aren't old enough to tell adults they have allergies.
Each bracelet is $4.50. They're sold in stores in Brentwood and Franklin or can be purchased online.
