GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn.Julie Kroll and her three children panicked on Friday when Coby, the family's 2-year-old yellow Lab, jumped into a pond near their house in Goodlettsville.

"The kids were throwing some rocks in the ice on the pond, and the dog went straight out to the center where the ice was thin," said Kroll.
She and her children tried in vain to call the dog closer to where the ice was thicker. That's when, she said, panic began to set in.
"The kids were crying and calling his name, and I just though the kids are going to watch him go under," said Kroll.
Kroll said she began to pray, asking God to save Coby from the icy water. Seconds later, her prayers were answered when she saw a UPS truck driving up her long driveway.
UPS driver Mike Remo was at the right place, at the right time.
"If I delivered the way I was supposed to, I would have already delivered these packages two hours ahead of time," said Remo.
Remo quickly went into action, getting a ladder out of Julie Kroll's garage. With just a few inches of ice between him and the water, Remo rescued Coby.
"He put the ladder on the ice and crawled straight out to the dog. The dog came right to him, and he slowly lifted him out," said Kroll.
Remo told Channel 4 News he couldn't watch the dog go underwater and drown.
"My son at night when we have worship, he prays," said Kroll. "He thanks God for the UPS man."
