November 17, 2013
On November 17th the water on the lower end of Nickajack was at normal pool and falling. The upper end was high and rising. The water temperature in the back water was 54 and on the river it was 56.
Crappie - The crappie fishing is going well with crappie starting to move up shallow a little bit. The numbers are good around the bridges and culverts. The bait of choice is a tube in electric chicken with a 1/32 oz head. There are a few docks that have some deep water under them that are great for shooting.
Bass - The bass fishing remains a little slow but is starting to get better. There is some grass still left that is holding fish. The choice of baits seem to be moving baits such as spinnerbaits and spook around the edges and frogs on top. There are some fish coming on shallow running crankbaits as well.
Good luck and good fishing!
