On March 11th the lake level on Nickajack is 596.27 and stable. The flow is at 43,000 and falling. The water temps are 53 on the river and 58 in the backwater.
Crappie: The crappie fishing is heating up with the big ones moving up shallow. Small jigs 1/16 oz with bobby garland electric chicken color grubs are working best. The best depth is 3-6 feet deep around stumps and brush.
Bass: The bass fishing is getting better with water temps rising. They are starting to move shallow. The best baits are rattle traps, square bill crankbaits and spinnerbaits around stumps and brush on spawning flats in 2-4 feet of water.
Good luck and good fishing!
