Coach Mark Tipton is an Analyst for Channel 3 Eyewitness Sports. He coached running backs, defensive backs, and special teams at Cleveland High School 1986-1997 and helped lead the team to three State Championships during "The Streak" that included 54 consecutive wins.

Coach Tipton attended Dickson County Senior High School where he was an all-midstate quarterback.  He graduated in the top ten percent of a class of over 500 students.  He received the English Departmental award and the DAR Good Citizenship Award.  Upon graduation in 1981, he attended Austin Peay State University.  He was a member of the football team and was named "Mr. Governor", the highest honor bestowed upon a male student.  He received a major in English, a minor in History, and certification to teach both.

His first teaching and coaching experience was at Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School.  He coached the running backs and served as an English teacher.  He was named Catoosa County's Outstanding Young Educator his first year.  He then moved to Cleveland High School and taught English and coached football there for 11 years.  He coached under head coach Benny Monroe. During his time at Cleveland High, he was nominated as the Cleveland City Schools "Teacher of the Year" on numerous occasions.  He married former Bradley High School and Austin Peay State University volleyball standout, Lori Williams, and began their family.

In 1997 Mark left teaching and coaching to pursue a business career in the educational publishing industry.  He served as the East Tennessee Sales representative for the McGraw-Hill Companies until 2006.  In 2007 he was promoted to regional vice-president.  Due to the high frequency and volume of travel and a desire to be home with family and friends, he furthered his education and is now a local independent insurance agent with American Insurance Managers in Cleveland, TN.

He has remained active with youth through volunteering at Fellowship of Christian Athletes camps, coaching a travel baseball team, speaking engagements, serving on various athletic booster clubs, and following his son, Tucker, and daughter, Payton, in their athletic endeavors.

Tucker Tipton signed to play quarterback for Air Force this Fall. He starred as a safety and quarterback for the Cleveland Blue Raiders in high school.
