Before coming to Music City, Cara worked as a state government reporter for KAKE-TV in Wichita, Kan. While there, she covered the reemergence, arrest and court proceedings of the BTK serial killer, went to New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and traveled to the Middle East with the U.S. Air Force. She also worked as a reporter at KFSM in Fayetteville, Ark., and KOMU-TV in Columbia, Mo.

Cara graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia and is still an avid Missouri Tigers fan. She tries to make it back to her alma mater for at least one football game every year. In her free time, she enjoys running half marathons, yoga, shopping and reading. She loves living in Nashville with her husband, Jack. They have truly adapted to Tennessee life by adopting a Bluetick coonhound, Addison. They also have a cat, Shakespeare.
