WSMV To Air First Televised Mayoral Debate

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- WSMV-TV Channel 4, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Madison-Rivergate Chamber of Commerce are pleased to present the first televised debate in the 2007 Nashville Mayor’s race.The debate will air in prime time on June 25 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. live on WSMV-TV, Channel 4, and will stream live on WSMV.COM.WSMV anchors Dan Miller and Demetria Kalodimos will moderate the event in front of a live audience consisting of members of the Chamber of the Chamber of Commerce.“Channel 4 is committed to giving airtime to the issues and stories that affect the entire community,” said WSMV News Director Matthew Hilk. “No two journalists in Nashville are better qualified to question the candidates on those issues than Dan and Demetria.”
Officials with the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce said its member businesses have a strong interest in learning about the candidates' specific plans to make Nashville an even better place to live, work and invest."The impact of local government on the ability of our business community to grow and prosper has a far-reaching affect on the overall health and vibrancy of the Nashville region. The debate will allow the candidates to articulate a vision for the future of our great city, engage in a meaningful dialogue with the citizens of Nashville," said Darrell Freeman, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce.The debate will take place at the downtown campus of Tennessee State University.Both WSMV-TV and the Chamber are grateful to TSU for both the space and technical assistance.The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce has approximately 2,500 member companies and organizations and serves the entire middle Tennessee region.Related Link:
