Metro Police revealed new details Monday about the death of former Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair. Metro Police spokesman Don Aaron held the press conference shortly before 4:30 p.m. Monday.

The following are Aaron's updates.

4:24 p.m.: Gun purchased by Sahel Kazemi Thursday night from a private individual, whose name police would not release.

4:24 p.m.: The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation continues to conduct ballistics, gunshot residue testing. Kazemi's death classification won't be made until testing is done and results are back. A total of five shots were fired in the apartment: four hit McNair, one hit Kazemi.

4:26 p.m.: Police Department aware of Internet postings eluding to McNair's death prior to the death.

4:26 p.m.: Keith Norfleet, Kazemi's ex-boyfriend, has not been named a suspect.

4:26 p.m.: The gun was purchased after Kazemi's DUI arrest. She wouldn't have qualified for a handgun carry permit because she was 20 years old.

4:28 p.m.: There was a period of time between when other people entered the apartment and the police department arrived.

4:28 p.m.: "We are concerned" about the time elapse between when the bodies were discovered and 911 was called, said Aaron, who said the time elapse could be 40 minutes or longer. Police don't believe the bodies were moved.

4:28 p.m.: Kazemi said she was drinking and wasn't high when pulled over. Tests were positive that she was impaired. She made a comment about being high in the back of a police car.

4:32 p.m.: "It may be that we'll never know exactly why this happened," Aaron said.

4:32 p.m.: Gunshot residue testing isn't 100 percent reliable, Aaron said, but once the tests return, conclusions may be able to be reached.

4:35 p.m.: The two were in a dating relationship. No divorce proceedings have been filed in Nashville or elsewhere.

4:35 p.m.: Prior to Kazemi leaving the scene of the arrest Thursday, McNair and someone else in the Escalade left by a taxi cab. Aaron said he does not know who the third person in the vehicle was. There was no reason to detain the man, he said. The traffic stop was early Thursday morning.

4:37 p.m.: Detectives have an idea of how the gunshots happened but can't discuss it now.

4:38 p.m.: Police believe the sale of the gun to Kazemi occurred in Nashville.
