MRI Shows Minor Knee Injury To UCLA's Gordon

POSTED: 8:04 pm CDT June 18, 2009

(Sports Network) - UCLA forward Drew Gordon underwent an MRI exam Thursday, which showed a minor injury to his patellar tendon in his right knee.

The school announced earlier this week that Gordon partially tore the tendon, but in a release Thursday UCLA said the injury will not require surgery and that Gordon will start rehabilitation in one week.

The injury occurred at the 2009 USA Basketball U19 World Championship team trials in Colorado Springs.

In his first year with the Bruins last season, Gordon averaged nearly 11 minutes per game, logging 3.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest.
