NCAA Game Summary - Tennessee Tech At Jacksonville State

(Sports Network) - Daniel Northern poured in 22 points to power the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles to a 91-74 triumph over the Jacksonville State Gamecocks in the regular season finale for both Ohio Valley Conference teams.

Kevin Murphy added 21 points for Tennessee Tech (12-17, 6-12 OVC), which earned the eighth and final spot in the upcoming OVC Tournament. Will Barnes contributed 12 points off the bench for the Golden Eagles.

Nick Murphy tallied 18 points in defeat for Jacksonville State (11-17, 5-13), which saw its season come to an end. Jeremy Bynum posted 15 points for the Gamecocks, who got 14 points from Stephen Hall and 12 points from Brandon Crawford.

Tennessee Tech owned a 38-26 lead with under five minutes remaining in the first half, but Jacksonville State trailed by only two points (43-41) at intermission.

The Golden Eagles never trailed in the second half and gradually pulled away, finishing the game with a 50-16 edge in points in the paint.

Tennessee Tech connected on 53.6 percent of its field goal attempts in the contest and shot a staggering 29-of-30 from the foul line, the most accurate performance in school history.
