The field of 65 for the NCAA men's basketball tournament was announced Sunday evening and the state of Tennessee boasted five teams in the annual March Madness competition.

Vanderbilt, 26-7, scored a No. 4 seed in the Midwest Regional and will play Siena College in Tampa on Friday. The Commodores are coming off one of their most successful regular seasons in recent history and look to get back to the Sweet 16 for a second-straight year.

Vandy began the season at 16-0 and knocked their off cross-state rival, the University of Tennessee, which was the No. 1 team in the nation at the time. The team is lead by the duo of Shan Foster, the Southeastern Conference player of the year who averaged 20 points per-game, and freshman Australian center A.J. Ogilvy.

After losing their second game in the SEC tournament, the University of Tennessee, 29-4, lost their chance at a No. 1 seed.

However, the team was the SEC's regular season champion and for the first in the program's 99-year history garnered the No. 1 ranking in the AP poll for a week. It also handed the University of Memphis their only loss of the season.

The Vols have a No. 2 seed in the tournament and will play American University on Friday in Birmingham, Ala. The team will look to send their sharp-shooting all-SEC senior guard Chris Lofton out on a high note.

The Atlantic Sun champion Belmont Bruins are making their third straight return to the NCAA tournament and will take on Mike Krzyzewski's Duke Blue Devils in Washington D.C., on Thursday. The Bruins, 25-8, are a No. 15 seed in the tournament and are led by leading scorers Justin Hare and Shane Dansby.

Austin Peay State University has a tough draw as well and will play Big XII powerhouse Texas in North Little Rock, Ark., on Friday. The Governors are the No. 15 Seed in the South Regional. Austin Peay, 24-8, was the Ohio Valley Conference champs and are making their first appearance in the tournament since 2003. The Governors' leading scorers are Drake Reed and Derek Wright.

The University of Memphis, 33-1, are coming off their best season in school history, only losing one game and taking the Conference USA title on Saturday with a blowout win over Tulsa.

The Tigers were an easy choice for a No. 1 seed in the South Regional and will play their first-round game against the University of Texas at Arlington on Friday in North Little Rock, Ark.

Guard Chris Douglas-Roberts leads the well-balanced Tigers offensive who look to get to their first Final Four since 1985.
