Arrest Made In 26-Year-Old Cold Case

BRISTOL, Va. -- Twenty-six years and two days after a man was found dead, detectives said they have arrested accused of the slaying.

Two fishermen found the body of Errastus Stump near the shores of Percy Priest Lake in 1982.

On Wednesday, Rutherford County deputies went to Bristol, Va., and arrested the man who they said killed him.

Mac MacFarlane went by the name Randy MacFarlane when he and Stump worked together at a machinery company in LaVergne, Tenn.

MacFarlane had been a suspect at the time of the Stump's death, but authorities have not said what prompted this week's arrest.
