City May Ban Some Fireworks In Murfreesboro

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- The Fourth of July party may be over before it starts for people in Murfreesboro.

Channel 4 News partners at the Murfreesboro Post report the City Council may pass a fireworks ban Thursday night.

The ban will include several types of fireworks including bottle rockets, roman candles and mortar shells.

The issue came up after two police officers were hurt when a mortar round exploded next to them last year.
