COOPERTOWN, Tenn. -- A controversial mayor is cutting back the police force and costing his own son a job.In Coopertown, Mayor Danny Crosby said too many officers are sitting around with nothing to do.He said he decided to cut the force by a third. The cuts mean that a captain, detective and two other officers have been laid off.The Robertson County Times reports the detective is the chief's son and the second highest paid member of the force.
