NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A mother who lost her daughter is hearing from authorities that she may never get the body back for burial.
Video: Mother May Never Receive Remains Of Slain DaughterA prayer bench at Spring Hill Cemetery in Robertson County is what family members have to remember victim Teresa Peden. But there is no birth date or date of death on the bench because investigators have yet to turn over her remains to her family. This comes two years after her skeleton was found in a shallow grave in Adams, Tenn.
"I just want my daughter. I think I've waited long enough," said Peden's Mother, Shirley Rediker. The last time Rediker saw her daughter was in August of 2003.Robertson County Sheriff's deputies questioned Peden's husband, Eugene, after her death. Channel 4 spoke with him during an interview several years ago, and he admitted to a stormy marriage but not murder. On Monday, an assistant district attorney told Channel 4 by phone that the case is still being investigated, so it's unlikely the family will ever be given Peden's remains."I'm just waiting to get her … I didn't get to say bye to her that morning because I never would have dreamed something like this would have happened," said Rediker.Investigators said they are looking at several people responsible for the slaying of Peden. An autopsy revealed Peden's death was caused by multiple stab wounds. Her remains are still in a box in a Nashville office.
