Democratic Party To Choose County Executive Office Candidates

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Voters in Rutherford County will not get to pick the Democratic candidates in the primary next spring.

Instead, the Democratic Party will hold a caucus to choose its candidates for county executive offices.

According to the Daily News Journal, the move will save $100,000 -- the price of a county primary.

The jobs up for grabs are sheriff, county clerk, mayor and trustee.
