A familiar face to NBC News viewers is coming to Nashville to moderate the presidential debate at Belmont University.

The Commission on Presidential Debates announced on Tuesday that Tom Brokaw will moderate the debate between the candidates.

Brokaw was the longtime anchor of "NBC Nightly News."

He is moderating "Meet the Press" through the presidential election. He took over the role after host Tim Russert's death in June.

The presidential debate is set for the Curb Events Center at Belmont University on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
