NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Nashville will be the focus of the political parties when the city hosts one of the presidential debates. The debate, one of four in the run up to Election Day, is set to be held in October at Belmont University’s Curb Events Center. But neighbors are starting to worry about the crowds that will accompany the debate.A couple thousand reporters, about 5,000 debate attendants and the number of protesters are sure to substantially increase the area’s population. There haven't been any formal plans announced yet, so that's why a lot of neighbors around Belmont want to know what's going to happen. They said they're worried about the traffic and that they want to know if the Secret Service is going to come and boot them from their homes. In light of the concerns, the Metro Council, police and the mayor's office will try and answer some of those questions for residents at a meeting in Belmont’s Beaman Student Life Center at 7 p.m.There will also be a chance for neighbors to voice their concerns. Some other questions that are still out there are whether students will be sent home on break during the debate and how people can get a ticket to the debate. Some of the answers won’t be answered until the end of the month when Belmont representatives go to Washington, D.C., for a meeting with the debate commission.
