(Sports Network) - The Nashville Predators signed center Rich Peverley to a two-year contract and goaltender Pekka Rinne to a one-year contract extension, the team announced Friday.

The first year of Peverley's contract will pay the 26-year-old $475,000 at the NHL level and $100,000 at the minor-league level, as part of a two-way agreement. The second year is a one-way contract paying him $500,000. Rinne's one-year extension will take effect in the 2009-10 season and pay the 25-year- old $725,000.

He led the AHL last season with 36 wins and led the Milwaukee Admirals to a Calder Cup Finals appearance in 2006 with 10 playoff wins including three shutouts.
