Texans Give K Brown Contract Extension

(Sports Network) - The Houston Texans announced Thursday that they have signed veteran kicker Kris Brown a contract extension.

Terms of the deal were not announced.

Brown, who has been with the Texans since the team started out in 2002, made 29-of-33 field goal attempts in 2008 in addition to going a perfect 37-for-37 in extra point attempts.

The 32-year-old Nebraska product was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the seventh round of the 1999 NFL Draft. He spent three years with the Steelers before coming over to Houston and is 231-for-294 lifetime on field goal attempts for a 78.6 percent success rate.
